Please note: For Alaska and Hawaii, we can only offer a flat rate $100 shipping charge for 2nd Day Air service.

We do not offer local delivery.

How are shipping prices determined?

We are shipping a perishable good, involving dry ice, so our average shipping cost is $36. To break it down... An average of $27 to ship and an average of $9 for the box, the cooler liner, the dry ice, and the frozen gel packs. Because we are a small company, we do not receive the savings that larger companies receive from the big shipping companies.

Why would I pay extra for 2-Day Air Express or Next Day Air?

Our packaging has been tested for upwards of 72-96 hours and never surpassed an internal temperature of 40 degrees F. That being said, product may start to partially thaw after the 48 hours mark. If you want to guarantee your product arrives frozen solid, especially to our East & West Coast & Warmer states, the premium shipping options may be for you.

Another perk is if our small staff has an overwhelming number of orders to fulfill, 2-Day Air Express and Next Day Air will prioritize your order to the front of the list to guarantee your order will arrive on time for your event.

Notes:

  • Next Day Air can only be shipped Monday-Thursday and 2-Day Air Express can only be shipped Monday-Wednesday.
  • The lower 48 States that typically take 3-days to ship with UPS Ground typically include, but are not limited to - WA, OR, CA, NV, ID, MT, WY, UT, AZ, FL, WV, NY, NJ, CT, MA, VT, NH, ME.
I placed an order, when will it ship?

Orders are shipped Monday - Wednesday. If a one or two shipping option is selected your order may ship on a Thursday. While orders should we arrive within 3 days max, we do not want it sitting in a warehouse over weekends. This is why we only ship towards the beginning of the week.

UPS has different zones for shipping based on our Missouri location. For example, if you live in Pennsylvania, it can take either 2 days or 3 days for the order to get to you. Certain areas of the country do not have Saturday delivery and UPS does not deliver on Sunday, so those orders may wait to ship until the following Monday. If you are in a bind and need Wagyu beef stat, or want to guarantee it arrives frozen, you can always choose our expedited shipping services.

What is Wagyu?

Wagyu beef is a breed of cattle known for their abundant intramuscular fat. This equates to marbling, which equates to delicious beef. Our cattle are raised on green pastures and given free choice to a corn-based ration to maximize marbling. We believe happy animals make the best finished product!

Find out more here: The Wagyu Difference

Why is Wagyu more expensive than other types of beef?

This is for two reasons. First, the animals are much more expensive to buy than commodity beef. Second, our animals are on feed for three times longer than traditional breeds. More feed equals a lot more money! We strive to keep our prices very competitive compared to other equal Wagyu websites.

What is the difference between Classified and Top Secret Grades?

Classified: Cuts will be rated BMS 4-7. These cuts will have significantly more marbling than what you would find in a store bought Prime steak. If you've ordered from us before there is a good chance your steak, brisket or tri tip fell somewhere on the classified scale.

Top Secret: Cuts will be rated BMS 7-11. These cuts will have exceptional marbling and will be our inventory that goes above and beyond what we typically see in the Butcher Shop.

Is my product safe to refreeze when it arrives?

Yes! Even if the product arrives slight thawed it is perfectly safe to freeze. We recommend our product freeze no longer than 6 months.

How long is my product safe in the refrigerator before eating?

Because our product is vacuum sealed it will be good for up up to 7 days. Hot Dogs, Brats and Summer Sausage all last between 30-60 days.

I want a certain cut of beef you do not have on your website. Can I order it?

Yes, reach out to us via email at contact@valorprovisions.us for more info on receiving special cuts. Lead time ranges from 4 – 6 weeks.

I want to try a new cut, but I’m unsure of a recipe. Any tips?

Check out our Wagyu Recipes or reach out to us! We only carry cuts we like to eat, so most of the times we have delicious recipes! We are always working on making more videos and putting more recipes on the website.

Do you offer Wagyu beef in bulk?

We do offer our Wagyu beef in bulk. Our options can be found here: https://kccattlecompany.com/collections/wagyu-1-8th-quarter-and-half-cow

Due to the amount of products that come in a bulk beef order, you may find it as out of stock. Please reach out to contactus@kccattlecompany.com and we'll be able to help with the order!

Are your cattle grass fed?

Our cattle is grass fed and grain finished. You often see a lot of people wanting beef that is grass fed and grass finished, basically never consuming any type of grain. The tricky part of this is that a lot of the regulations that surround grass fed and finished are not very specific and in a lot of cases, they are not actually grass fed and grass finished to what the end consumer things. A lot of times they are fed corn silage.

So why do we not use a strict grass fed and grass finished beef? Because we don’t want the meat we deliver to taste like lawn clippings from a lawn mower. Wagyu beef historically has been raised with very specific diets. We give ours the option to eat a special non-GMO distillery blend that is similar to how wagyu are raised traditionally in Japan. We believe this gives our beef the appropriate nutrients that they need and gives our beef the best taste possible for our consumer.

Do you give your animals hormones, vaccines, and antibiotics?

We never give any type of growth hormones that a lot of the big corporations do. We only treat animals that are sick as no animal should have to suffer on our ranch. We also do not give any type of mRNA vaccines to our animals.

How long are items out of stock for?

As part of our commitment to quality and freshness, we undertake the meticulous process of butchering our own cattle in-house. This ensures that each cut meets our exacting standards before it is expertly prepared and frozen for shipment.

However, as a result of this hands-on approach, it is not uncommon for certain items to temporarily go out of stock (OOS) as we await the completion of our butchering process. We appreciate our customers' patience during these times and assure them that our team is working diligently to replenish stock as swiftly as possible while maintaining the integrity of our products.

Click on the "notify me when available" button when you'd like to be notified that an item is back in stock. We'll send you an email as soon as it's available.

How do you have Wagyu, that's only in Japan?

We do have full breeds and mixed breeds on our ranch.

~ Here's some history: Wagyu beef first came to the United States in 1975 when four Wagyu bulls - two Japanese Black and two Japanese Red - were imported by Morris Whitney for research at Colorado University.

These bulls were then used to crossbreed with female Angus, Holstein, Hereford, and Brangus cattle from Texas.

In 1993, three Japanese Black female Wagyu were also imported, leading to the first full-blooded Wagyu calves born in the U.S.

Between 1994 and 1997, less than 200 full-blooded Wagyu, mostly Japanese Black with a small number of Japanese Red, were exported from Japan to the U.S.

However, in 1997 the Japanese government banned the export of Wagyu cattle, declaring it a national treasure.

This led to the rarity of Wagyu outside of Japan that we see today.

The American Wagyu Association was established in 1990 to register Wagyu cattle in the U.S. and Canada, and to promote the Wagyu industry.

Today, the Association estimates there are around 40,000 Wagyu-influenced cattle in the U.S., with less than 5,000 being full-blooded Wagyu.

In summary, Wagyu was first introduced to the U.S. in 1975 through the importation of a small number of Wagyu bulls, followed by some female Wagyu in the 1990s. However, the export of Wagyu from Japan was banned in 1997, limiting the spread of Wagyu genetics outside of Japan.
