Josh and Jessica Rauser raise purebred KuneKune pigs on open pasture, rotate the herd to rebuild the soil, and feed a daily fermented ration of non-GMO barley, wheat, oats, alfalfa and beets with no corn. Every pig in the herd is KPPA certified purebred with its own pedigree.

Why KuneKune

KuneKunes are a slow-growing heritage breed built to graze rather than root. They take roughly two years on pasture to reach weight instead of six months in a barn, and the difference shows on the plate: deep red meat, marbling through every cut, and a silky, faintly sweet fat that renders slow and crisps clean. A KuneKune shoulder steak grills like a ribeye. KuneKune bacon is the richest you will find.

What You'll Find Here

Smoked bacon, smoked jowl bacon, bone-in shoulder steaks, breakfast patties and Italian sausage, all from the same pasture-raised herd. Steakholder members save on every cut.

The Rausers

Josh and Jessica were city kids. In 2020 they moved their growing family out of Minneapolis and started over on seven wooded acres in central Michigan with a garden, a couple of goats and a few KuneKune pigs. They outgrew it fast and settled in Hastings, where they also opened a store on the farm so more than 30 neighboring families could sell what they grow and make. Every order from this collection keeps a Michigan family farm, and the community around it, in business.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0629/4585/3487/collections/351130840_618156490247246_3104879559376001880_n.jpg?v=1791825128
